Author Fees (APC Policy)
The Contemporary Biomedical Research (CBR) series does not charge author fees for chapters submitted to edited thematic volumes coordinated by invited editors. These contributions are fully subsidized to promote open access publishing without financial barriers for authors.
However, a publication fee applies to conference proceedings volumes submitted by academic event organizers. The base fee is 500 EUR, which includes up to 7 chapters. Each additional chapter beyond the seventh is charged at 40 EUR per chapter. This fee covers DOI assignment, peer review coordination, plagiarism checks, typesetting, online publication, and long-term hosting on our platform.
Please note: a 24% tax (VAT) will be added if payment is made by:
- An EU-based company without a valid VAT number,
- An Estonian company, or
- An individual residing in the EU.
Waivers and Discounts
- Authors from low-income countries (as classified by the World Bank) receive a 100% APC waiver.
- Ukrainian authors are temporarily exempt from fees due to the ongoing conflict.
- Reviewers who have completed peer reviews for the series are eligible for a 15% discount as a token of appreciation.
- Waivers or discounts may be granted once per year per author or event and must be requested before acceptance.
To ensure fairness and editorial integrity, all waiver requests are reviewed independently of the editorial process, per COPE’s guidelines on author fees and waivers, to ensure fairness and editorial integrity.
For questions or waiver requests, please get in touch with info@pro-metrics.org.
